Asserting Boundaries With Others

I used to be a doormat for others. Just let em walk all over me but, not anymore!!!

Today, I called the police on some neighbors who were fighting like wild jackals and told a good friend not to come to my house wasted on pills anymore.

I feel good that I am finally asserting boundaries with people and although I have probably ticked some folks off....oh well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I hope others are learning to assert their boundaries too and are better for it, as I am.

I'm only recently starting to do that. I'm usually the "nice" girl...meaning whatever I feel I hold in, I'm nice, kind, I help others if I can and someone has to really push me for me to react really harshly. Usually I "take out" my reactions mostly upon myself. It's been kind of a revelation that before reacting for myself I can actually calmly talk to other people and express my needs in the situation.
I think it's a big thing.

Well done Lion. Its a huge thing when we have been trained to have few or no boundaries. I too have made this journey and it has been self, life and wellbeing affirming. A true lifeline. I hope it is for you too.
