Yes, yes, yes!!!
I was in college when I started getting big flashbacks of my childhood (irrational fear of anger/yelling became understood). My grandfather (only father-figure) died in my first semester and then I ended up in an emotionally abusive relationship second year. I never suffered physical abuse by my ex, but the emotional manifestations were largely physical (Tremors, arthritis-like pains, IBS).
I was signed up for a 3-year environmental course which involved a lot of math, chemistry and biology. Many of those courses became very difficult under the mental stress of my situation and I opted to finish the 2-year degree (barely) instead of sticking it out for the intended 3 and possibly dropping out. My professors were very supportive and they are probably the only reason I was able to finish at all.
I then took an entire year off both school and work before I was able to leave my Ex and actually face my problems. That was 2014 and even now I wouldn't be prepared to try again. I was always really good with numbers but still get very scrambled and confused because there are too many other things going on in my head, even making change sometimes stumps me for a moment and I get distracted easily.
Take your time to try and sort through things. If you want to do it all now then kudos to you, you are very strong for doing so! Your brain may just prioritizing other things right now and it can make focusing on education more difficult, but there's nothing wrong with that. Communicating with your professors and faculty will be a big help, they will often give you extra opportunities to improve if you simply ask :)
