How Did You Sleep Last Night?

I appreciate that  if you accept. I have been on it for a while but I have low blood pressure issues due to autoimmune related blood disorder. Wanting the nightmares to stop I wasn't really thing of the consequences of take the full max dosage I am allowed. We sure did get lucky in the mother departments didn't we. /heavy sarcasm. Hang in there with the EMDR it is emotionally taxing I hope it continues to help you.

I understand now that medication is for low b/p @Fadeaway  hugs back to you! An auto-immune blood disorder does it have a specific name? I have an auto-immune disorder relating to my thyroid called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (big word for low thyroid issues). Your auto-immune blood disorder sounds serious is it? You are prescribed therefore allowed maximum dose and I can see why and wanting relief. Have you checked the side effects to this drug, wouldn't hurt. Some Rx's as you probably already are aware of can cause nightmares, or were you having them prior to initially taking this particular Rx? Just curious.

Yes, (little humor comin') ..."she ain't heavy, she's my mutha.." believe there's a song about ..."He ain't heavy he's my brother..." LOL and luck LOL most certainly had notta to do with it! Yep, we sure were given the muthas of all mothers, from what you've just disclosed about your mother and also what I know about my own mother, holy crap! :nailbiting::O_o::wtf::happy:

Yes, EMDR is not to be trifled with a very powerful brain reprogamming and numbing tool and I am not wanting to go through but a few more sessions for it causes me (with multiple to infinity trauma events) to have extreme paranoia and negative physical issues - not a fan, most assuredly, don't know if I would recommend to anyone who has multiple severe and profound trauma events like me. I don't believe it's even recommended for persons with multiple traumas so I've read, yet it helped with father, so. I do so like me some /heavy sarcasm especially when it has to with significant others who not only dropped the f*****' ball they shredded it LOL! You hang there as well. JJ

By the by @Fadeaway the last of the four emoticons well I did not click on it, so it must like you and wanted to cheer you up all by its little self. (no kidding). JJ

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia. It causes me to have low blood volume hence the low blood pressure and since prazosin also causes low blood pressure but it is prescribed to help stop the nightmares... yeah. I am trying to treat the anemia naturally since because the treatment options are worse than the disease in my opinion but that means I have to go in for blood transfusions every so often. I am probably due for one. I am familiar with Hashimoto's. Just a heads up, if you have one autoimmune disorder you probably have another one as well, if not you are at high risk of developing another and PTSD actually increases that risk. They like to travel in packs and trauma can be the trigger that causes your body to turn on it's self.

These are bad symptoms low b/p, low blood volume, and much needed blood transfusions; I'd never heard of autoimmune hemolyic anemia sounds rough. Hashi's bad enough causes weight gain just by lookin' at a piece of bread (LOL) and then the ups and downs with heart and brain (thyroid as you may know is the thermostat for brain and heart) and hopefully sounds like you are trying to stayon top of it and hard to stay ahead of these autoimmune problems because the symptoms come seemingly like thieves in the night, hours just like mine. I didn't know that one autoimmune can and does lead to another. So I am definitely in line for another autoimmune illness? Wow. Thanks for heads-up. Do you have a second diagnosed autoimmune disease and if so what's it called, please? Ptsd symptoms are bad enough on their own, then we get hit with autoimmune crappola!

Ironically when dx'd with S.M.I. I was also at very same time dx'd with autoimmune disorder. Hmmm. JJ

I was diagnosed with celiacs first. About 6 years prior to the hemolytic anemia. You have to have to carry the genes for that one. While Dr.s don't seem to have caught on to it yet, there is a huge awareness in the celiacs community of connection between trauma/stressful events and developing celiacs in people who were previously only carriers of the gene but had not yet developed celiacs.

I didn't know that one autoimmune can and does lead to another.
It is cetianly not 100% It is possible for you not to develop subsequent autoimmune but you definitely fall into the high risk category. It's not exactly common knowledge because the research very recent, if you look at a study from 2009 and then one from 2001 and then one from 2015 they are all going to tell a very different story because the understanding of autoimmune disorders is still in it's infancy.

Celiac I have heard of and am also not familiar with it's characteristics and symptoms as well. Yes, understand that I am high risk. Probably have second undx'd autoimmune disorder and don't know it. I am tired, not just a little, seriously fatigued and don't know why other than ptsd, emdr, and hashi and that most days I can barely hold my head up after being up for only 8, 9, 10 hours at a time (plus can only sleep roughly 4-5 hrs. at a time. Oh yeah.

Do you know, for I don't know if there's an autoimmune disorder that primary symptom involves being extraordinarily exhausted to the point just can barely get going; must nap in the afternoon for some time 3, 4, 5 hours depending on what I tried to get done that particular day. I may have a 2nd autoimmune disorder and could be unaware, which was the case with Hashimoto's T. My TSH had to get all the way up to 40 and I had to come out of Univ. of Kent. and my brain and mind were never the same afterwards.

And at times, but hasn't been for quite a while, @Fadeaway that thyroid levels have to be tweaked because I am dragging, tired and beaten more than usual and stress may cause thyroxine levels to drop as occurred in the past few months, and just discovered it a couple of wks. ago, then was given more thyroxine from 150 mcg to 200 mcg.

And I suspect (only suspect) that emdr had a hand in thyroid levels dropping due to extreme paranoia, panick and emotional mayhem post emdr sessions. I really do NOT want to continue in emdr therapy, for I am very afraid that there is a correlation to thyroid problem and emdr. I do know Fadeaway that emdr caused some major psychological and physical trauma (which seems to have ceased) since I've not had emdr in a month or so now. During emdr while I was dealing with emdr desensitizing and reprogramming the historical trauma events my right ear (after 16 emdr sessions had a loud buzzing in right ear that went away) and physically shaking and extremely panic-stricken post sessions. I am considering very seriously stopping emdr permanently although I did want to deal with mother, and step-mother (monster), and some other trauma. I am trying to figure out whether it's worth the risk to my body after what happened already. :wacky: I want to read about celiac because of link with stress as I am a walking stress monster  LOL. JJ

The first thing I recommend to anyone would be get your vitamin levels tested. The next would be talking to you Dr about natural thyroid medications versus synthetic. It could be just a matter of the one brand of thyroid medication versus another. I took thyroid medications short term when I was going through I.V.F. Another suggestion would be to look into adrenal fatigue. Fatigue is a common symptom in many autoimmune disorders because basically your body is in a state of civil war, literally. Really, blood tests are where you need to start.

As far as celiacs go, do you know of anyone in your family with it because it is genetic? It also comes with wicked G.I. symptoms in most people.

Not close to family, so can't find out that way and I've certainly had the G.I. blues (abscess and sigmoid 7/6 removal and resection) and I appreciate mentioning blood work and adrenals. Will check into this as I see primary again in about 3 1/2 wks. He wants to check anti-anxiety med to see if working, and also check me regarding thyroid (since he changed thyroxine meds). I use to be on natural thyroid supplement and I did not stabilize well on same TSH, T3, T4, etc. numbers kept going haywire so went back to synthetic. Can't tolerate synthroid at all. Can tolerate levothyroxine and I honestly think that emdr stress and anxiety had a lot to do with low thyroid this time. I am not wanting to go back to emdr now. Maybe one or two more times. Maybe none. I am afraid to chance more physiological symptoms that I've already experienced @Fadeaway. Thanks for your knowledge, information and concern. Luv, JJ.

I had the worst PTSD nightmare I have ever had. I have had some bad ones, but, this one took the cake.

I won't go into details as it was disturbing to me and probably to others as well. Suffice it to say that I was being physically and psychologically tortured in this "dream".
