Holidays f*cking suck! They all should be lifted where they are all just another day! Celebate if you want but a normal day for everyone that doesn't or don't have family/can't handle to be around family. They cause a lot of pressure, tension, and depression. So many kill themselves on Christmas Day simply because they were alone on Christmas. That's sad! Why, oh why do we Americans put so much pressure around the holidays?

Thinking of you while sitting alone, at home, in my PJs all day, without a dinner to cook, on Thanksgiving Day.

You have taken some good steps today. Setbacks are a pet of the process and don’t erase the good steps. Reward yourself for the positive steps taken. Find more steps to take towards health. That will set things right way better than any punishment.

(This is all stuff I have to remind myself too. No judgement here
Yep. This ^^^^

So true!

I volunteer delivering meals on Christmas. I say in all honesty that the first year I did this, it was my best Christmas ever. Some people just answer the door and say thank you, others will talk your ear off for 20 minutes. To be able to give people some of your time when silence and loneliness scream the loudest is one of the best things we can do. When I tell people about my volunteering, they say it’s so great that I sacrifice my holiday for others. I laugh and say “sacrifice? It’s no sacrifice!” And it truly isn’t. I look forward to doing this every year.

This year my holiday was small. I woke up today (at noon lol) feeling better. My doc woke me up as I had left him a message about an emergency change in meds. He remarked that I sounded so much better today. (I was sobbing in my voicemails.) I decided to cook dinner and had my boyfriend and mom come over. Fortunately they weren’t mad, just worried about me.

And today was the first day in about a week with no mood crash! I think the steroids are mostly out of my system now. Hurrah!!!

That's good to hear

Steroids ended me up in the Hospital for a week or so not that long ago, maybe 2 years now. I went into a super manic because of them. I was so confused I could not even figure out how to take my meds. A neighbor had to convince the paramedics that I was not "on something" and that I usually did not act like I was acting at all. FINALLY they agreed to take me to the H. The ER did not know what to do with me, so they sent me to the mental hospital. There, the FIRST question they asked me was, "Has anyone given you Prednisone?" My answer was yes, twice in the last month, by 2 different Dr.s. Needless to say, they did some major medicating of me and they kept me safe for a week, before agreeing to let me go. During that week, they also changed my meds, so that I would not get Dementia, since some of the ones I was on were ones that if taken over long periods of time, cause Dementia, which runs in my family.

I am doing MUCH better now, thankfully!
