Hubby says something similar - that my best years are yet to come. I said they better be.
We both have upcoming birthdays. He'll be 49 and I'll be 41.
But I'm with @woodsy1 - I feel pretty beat up.
I'm so happy you two have each other. It's easy to miss having someone.

Yup. Beat up might be my new favorite phrase. It might usurp Ugh!

Family? 1 year divorced. Mom lives 25 minutes away. That's about it.

I have a roommate. He could be my son, but he's cool.

I have one friend who stops buy occasionally to pay me for a car I helped him buy.
Ah! A roomate, so your not completely alone. That's good. What's your relationship like with your mom?

Having a room mate is a lifesaver sometimes. I don't think he can even imagine!

Mom is awesome. She is a woman of faith and I always wanted to please her, but ended up very different than I thought I would be. We have a good relationship. It's a challenge in my head sometimes. Cognitive dissonance and the like. You know?

Need some interaction here. I know I'm always trying to encourage people, but I need some help here. I'm hurting bad.
Have you considered starting a Trauma Diary? If not, let me enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend you give one a shot! 😃

People use Trauma Diaries in many different ways, it’s your own personal space to use as you need best, and seeking support from others? Is one of the most often used aspects of them.

There are 3 forums for Trauma Diaries, with different levels of privacy catered.

Trauma Diaries - Anyone can read/respond
Trauma Diaries (Members) - Only registered members can read/respond and is NOT indexed by search engines.
Trauma Diary (Private) - Only yourself & Admins can read/respond (not the diary to use when seeking interaction with others).

Trauma Diaries are not only a great place to receive support, but they also keep all your stuff in one place which makes it easier to find & refer back to, and see your own progression over time. Incrediably useful tools, on a whole heckuva lotta different levels.

Cool, I have a good relationship with my mum also. I don't see my dad. I find it to difficult. He's changed and not like he used to be but I can't forget the damage he caused.

Thank you. I will have to check this out.

I don't know if you are aware but my trauma diary is typically a long post in the morning that you have been responding to lately but I don't get a lot of responses to mine. I am convinced it is because my posts are too long, which is fine because I am using that as a diary more than as a place to start conversations. But if you want to engage people, don't do what I do. Instead, keep it short and interesting. Adding a question or two doesn't hurt, either.
