Anxiety Makes Me Freeze

Anxiety causes the blood vessels in the arms and legs to constrict. You know how hyperventilating can be a part of anxiety? That is actually the body thinking it needs lots of oxygen to RUN. Being cold, with the blood vessels constricting, is kind of like that. It is the body, pulling all the blood to the core, to the heart, so it is fuel to go and run from the fear, if needed.

I have been known to wear a down jacket in the summer when really anxious.

I have this too. When I am triggered I get boiling inside. When fear hits I get freezing. I oscillate between the two really quickly. It happens at night too for me. I will wake up burning up and 1 minute later be freezing cold. The goosebumps doesn't surprise me and I used it many times to scan my environment when they came up to see what was getting to me.

I am anxious more often than not. I buy feed corn at Agway and cheap washcloths at Target. I sew bags and fill with 2-3 cups of feed corn. Microwave for two minutes and presto-a warmer you can put against your body to warm it up and relax muscles.
