I've been doing emdr for a while now and her office is the only place I cry. It's crazy to me but for me, processing trauma has brought intense emotion. I feel safe in her office and sometimes I need to practice mindfulness and do grounding techniques to get out of that place. I don't cry at home but if for a second I turn my mind toward any of my traumas I feel like I could tear up. I push those thoughts away when they come.
I think as we get better and process our trauma these things will get easier.
