that's..so weird (this work policy). Can you ask if you can take more calls bc you really want to? Otherwise...idk.

My thought too. Worked in so many calls centers. It's all I've done my entire adult life and its the first one this strict. I get PCI compliance and mobile devices and I get not being distracted on calls but come on!

A lot of it, I think, has to do with exc's being on the other side of the building and walking through here. No one wants to be caught being unprofessional with the VP walking through. But, that said, we need to be given a small bit of slack somewhere.

I think so. I think many were surfing the net but I know they were specificlly indirectly talking to me as they gave examples of surfing the net for personal reasons and used examples I was on often like Amazon. Many sites are blocked by the firewall but Amazon isn't. Or wasn't. It maybe now blocked. Not sure. But, the leads walk around and tell on you about stuff. Yesterday I saw quite a few looking at my monitors when they walked by. So, yep, not chancing it though I see some doing it. They're watching me specificlly.

But I think they said it in a team meeting because many are surfing the net.

I wish I could take more calls but its a queue. They have no control over that.

So they won’t give you a few sheets of paper?

Or you can’t take a few blank sheets of paper in?

I have a thick notebook but its full of work stuff. Theres some extra but i need to get another one. We can bring in paper. Not sure how to use the printers but we can bring in notebooks. I just need another one is all or buy specific paper for Oragami.

I can print it at home.

Or can you have another conversation with your supervisor to ask their suggestions on what would be permitted rather than you suggesting things to them and them saying they’re unsuitable?

I have a new sup thats not great at communicating but I can ask him about it. These are things my last to the last sup i had when we were working on my anxiety. Its what he said wasn't allowed so going off of that. Not asked my current sup. I wont see him til Friday tho.

Could do an adult coloring book with bringing in a different color pencil every day (since you're only allowed one at a time, sounds like). Those are tools it sounds like you already have, and it was useful for you in the past....

I have a backpack and he was more like talking about having them in the box. I had spilled them out on my desk. But, he had to pull strings to get the adult coloring book based on anxiety effecting calls. I dont have that edge this time. Will ask my sup what sort of things are allowed and go from there. I cant just sit there for 20 mins. I'll fall asleep like i did right before this break. I have to keep my brain busy or distracted/busy somehow.

Yep, doodeling, sketching, drawing, mainly for direct observation or coping from a photograph has helped me to be awaked and mind focused. It doesn't really matter the outcome. Just do it, as you said, paper and pencil or pen. Have fun!!

Is there any project work you could do ? Something that would benefit your company. You have so many skills its a shame that your company isnt utilising them

Not sure. The only project I know of is mentoring but not been there long enough. I have to get to TC2 I think too.

Yeah. My last sup wanted me to help test a program and maybe help better it including coding but I was only under him for like 3 weeks. My days off changed which screwed everything up. They don't do that and came from upper, upper level management. They are apparently still struggling to find me a sup with around the same schedule apparently as my current sup has completely different days off then me too. Im still in another team's meetings. So that sort of messed everything up and it's why I'm scotch hopping sups at the moment. I'm now under a different manager (sup's sup) as well and my AHT (average handle time) has drasticlly gone up this month so they seem to be focused on that which means they aint taking me off the phones. Less calls mean less oppurtunity to get the AHT down and the more impacted each call is. Until I am meeting goal on all of my stats I can't see them giving me offline projects. Studying for certs seem to be the best for the company as the more certs you have the more you can do. But, alas.
