Just was talking with Squadie and Jar and decided a hobby/what we do for fun to not think would be a good topic...

Starting with my past love... military aircraft models...

the Mexicans even fought with us in WWII... Escuadron 201... sent in answer to a U-boat sinking one of their merchant ships.. kind of like the Tuskegee squadron.. impeccable record and they called on them to do the hard jobs...

Mate they are awesome! Last model I did was a Mk2 viper from the new Battlestar Galactica, great to do, even better when I called it hazel, after the wife.

awesome!!!! and never did much star trek/wars stuff but I am a geek at heart.. lol... the first aircraft (tan and grey) is an AU Martlet Mk III (F3F for us Americans, lend-lease act) stationed in Lybia during the desert fighting there with Rommel.. Tweety who the craft was named for (the nose art) was a buddy from AU... QLD to be exact.. it ended up being a joke I did that..

The second a prototype German Do335 bomber destroyer... 16 20mm's coming in would have decimated a lot of stuff.. we killed the factory before they made it off the production line...

cool! I don't know if I would have the patience.. how do you etch it? I've seen the etchings but never asked how it was done...

i use dremel with various diamond bits, for the basic designs i go right in and just go for it, more complex like the portrait i trace the out line then try and make the shading, definition up as i go along.
this one is the school logo, that my kids go to and the wife works at, have had to do about 8 of them for teachers lol, not bad considering i sell them for 10 euros a go

could never get to grips with an airbrush mate, lots of time cursing at them lol! The models are really good buddy. I like stuff like the glass, models, photography etc that you see a finished product. Love seeing other people reactions to stuff i've produced
