Hi, catjudo I'm going through the same thing as you my daughter turned 7 y/o on the 12th. and the last thing I wanted to do was throw her a party and I did exactly what you did convinced her to have a home party with just a few friends. unfortunately a few turned into many because a munch never rsvp's and showed up anyway but she had a good time anyway....my place was trashed but oh well. I don't drink and my therapist keeps asking me how come I don't and lately I keep wondering that myself too. It's gotten so bad lately that this week before x-mas vac. I didn't even have the energy to help her with h.w. i wrote her teacher a note. Sometimes it's just too much.
