I'm going to stop eating sugar!

Bryers has low carb very little sugar ice cream. On Amazon and at grocery stores you can get cookies with no sugar and gluten free. Russel Stover has no sugar chocolate candy and is wonderful. Pinterest has wonderful recipes. Only bread is dark rye for me. I have the Glycemic Index Diet list of foods off of that I buy fruit and veggies recommended. I don’t miss the sugar and I was like you. I have lost 28# in 2 1/2 months just by eliminating sugars that are refined , eating the right fruits and just using the dark rye.My husband loves our new meals. Look up sheet pan dinners. Go easy on potatoes. If we have a few they are red. Best to you.
Thanks Hulda! (meant to quote you in last post where I said that, but missed it)
You can grind cocoa nibs in a coffee grinder, and make hot chocolate the way pirates & royalty used to drink it; in a moka pot, or espresso machine, or even a French press, like coffee. INCREDIBLY bitter. Far more than straight espresso is. But? Hits that theobromine …ahhhhhh… bone melting, eye rolling, happy place. Adding vanilla whipped cream softens the bite, a bit.

More fun? Adding cinnamon, or hot chili peppers, (or both!) for a very Spanish / complex / bitter+heat bite. Whether you soothe it with cream, or vanilla cream, or not.
I make something with pre-ground nibs, a cinnamon-nutmeg-orangepeel mixture I made, and butter. It's pretty good. The cinnamon is the kind that's supposed to be alright in larger doses. I forget which kind that is.

Ceylon! Rather than the cassia we call cinnamon. I always forget, too. Saigon, Ceylon, Saigon, Ceylon??? …until someone else mentions it. Then I don’t have to google. 🤣 Every other time?

…crickets…

Fawk. Fine. Google.

I was very tired and irritable for no apparent reason, even after a healthy breakfast with orange juice. So I bought approximately a dozen chocolates and ate them to see if they would repair the problem. Now I'm chasing them with a nice coffee because they were a little much. Maybe like half a dozen would have done it.

If they help, maybe I'll factor in 4-5 days off per month. If not, I'll probably have to give myself another demerit--the second in one week!

Thank you! I was too lazy to look it up myself.

Sugar withdrawal. You’ll have to ride it out for a couple of weeks so your body can adjust back to what is healthy.
You also need 2 calcium ions to flex a muscle (ca++)… and 1 potassium ion (K+) to relax it. (This is why rigamortis happens when we die. Our bones are calcium “banks” but potassium has to be consumed regularly. Once the potassium is used up? All the calcium makes every muscle in our body lock up for awhile; IE Rigormortis, until the muscles start decomposing). Cheerful! I know!

Point being?

Up your calcium consumption.

Both just a generally good thing to do for neeeearly everyone (people who suffer from kidney stones, & other calcium related conditions you’re already on top of, ignore me), and especially women… as well as an oddly related deficiency for those reducing refined sugar… as there are often a lot of dairy products suddenly stopped (which are most people’s primary calcium source) when refined sugar is eliminated.

Any time you’re tired for no reason? Seeeeriously, try a calcium chew, to see if you perk back up faster than with espresso. Especially if you’re female. It’s about 89/100 the reason why people start dragging “for no reason”.

Get Addisons - you learn all about all that the first day you go out and are active when its warm - because you loose all that in sweat too. Pedialyte is a good way to get it back in a hurry, but for muscle cramps - pickle juice works great, near instant relief.

Putting Honey on your breakfast cereal is a huge help too, it can help absorb twice the calcium drinking milk will on its own....

Hell ya! Didn’t know that! 🥰

The only breakfast cereal trick I know is nixing childhood migraines. The exact mineral deficiency that causes it I’m spacing, but even chocolate frosted sugar bombs knock out of the park.

If I stay away from sweets through this Sunday, that will have been one entire month, June 30-July 30, minus five "cheat" days! If I win, then I get to have an ice cream party on July 31 and invite my friends! ☺️

For next month, I think I will change the game plan and come up with a different Violetta's Monthly Challenge.
