Supporter New Supporter Saying Hello

Hello everyone

Just wanted to say hello. I am a supporter to my wife. she has PTSD, depression, agoraphobia and social phobia. All of this was caused by an abusive childhood (non sexual) from her father. we have been together for nearly five years and married nearly two. we have a wonderful son who is 2 and a half that we never thought we would ever be lucky enough to have.

I have been supporting J (what I will call my wife for now) as best i can since we met and she explained it all to me but I am no mental health proffesional and its getting to the point where I need to know more about it to be effective and help her more.

Hope I can find something here, make some new friends and maybe help some other people.

There is an entire section for Supporters, where you will find information about PTSD, advice, and the personal experience of other members who's spouse/significant other have this disorder. PTSD can be tough on relationships and it is good to have a place for yourself where you can get the support that you need.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I have a lot to try and talk about regarding this so bear with me as i get it all straight in my head so I can share. I really hope to get something out of doing this though as its been a long time coming

Come down to the supporters area, where you will find a few other male supporters who I am sure will make you welcome, as will the females. We are all in this together, maybe for different reasons, but still together.
