No Clue How To Get Through Today

Hello,

After not getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep, I am crap today in the office. On the very verge of crying and that colleague of mine who's been causing me stress is back from his vacation (still sitting in a darkened room, but why the hell do I even care???). Conference ahead including masses of work (which I usually love), lots of new people to meet (usually I like this) and right now it's all like too damn much already today when nothing yet is really going on!

I have no clue how to get through this day and I can only hope things will improve. Is there something I can do, you think?

I am sorry you are going to have a tough day. It seems to me that when I don't get enough sleep thing that wouldn't normally bother me start to really get to me. On those days I try to take more breaks and take a walk or do something that will get my heart pumping a bit more. It helps keep me alert and relieves some of the tension I feel.
 
Thank you, piratelady. Sometimes it's enough to be heard to feel a bit better.

I would do all you do, usually, but with the conference starting in few days I don't have the time to take off much. It's true though for me as well, things are worse after a bad night's sleep. I hope to be able to get out of here at least fairly on time and be able to do a bit of crying to get rid of some of the pressure to function.

Yeah, not sleeping makes me an emotional wreck. I'm sorry you're stuck at work feeling so bad. I'm glad you see the crying as functional--it really is! Are you able to get out of the office and walk around outside, even for five minutes? For me, being able to leave the location can help alleviate pressure sometimes. If nothing else, retreats to the bathroom! And can you leave for lunch, to get away? Hang in there and have an excuse at the ready so you don't get conned into staying late.
 
Generally, yes, I am able to get out of the office and walk around outside a bit, no problem. But at the moment and for the next two weeks that won't happen much. Walking helps me tremendously, but it's difficult to find the space since I'm on a university campus and there's people I know just everywhere. But usally that really is no problem.

I am home now, by the way. Left early. Felt like I was running away, and in a way I'm sure it's true. Being home is good. I hope tonight will be better than last.

I Agree with Hashi. Hope tommorow is a better day. At least you made it thru today, yeah for you.!!!:)
 
Thanks, you two. Sometimes time seems to slow down incredibly when I feel drained and then the next day seems years away. A good thing that the hands of time keep turning anyway. Hope you are well.
