Had my first gravy-covered sandwich. Inspired by a video in how to make a famous Danish meal called bøfsandwich and green bean casserole and biscuits and gravy. Mine was a crusty chewy toasted roll stuffed with chopped up sautéed beef shoulder and long green beans and smothered in garlicky beef gravy. Was good.

I usually warm up the frying pan, make like about the size and shape of a hamburger patty, lots of butter, fry until it crisps up like toast. Top with bacon, poached eggs, and hollandaise....post Christmas treat...

There is egg in the stuffing recipe. Plus I use a "make ahead" recipe where you mix the ingredients the night before (I love those around Holidays) so the bread gets to where the binders in the bread stick together and its pretty well stuck together.
I use the Americas Test Kitchen Family (red cover) cookbook a lot. They like make ahead recipes for some stuff and if I do the turkey, stuffing, and green bean casserole I spend longer on the day making gravy than anything else. They have the best "that seems odd" ingredients that are wow in the end - like red pepper sauce (Franks Red Hot/Tabasco) in your turkey gravy. Yummy...
