What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

Was going to have bacon, potatoes, and eggs, but @Freddyt ‘s meal inspired me so I made myself my very first bagel BELT except it was on a very old Walmart-brand plain bagel that had been in the fridge a long time, and the tomato was a Roma which had been on the vine too long and was nearly hollow, and the egg yolk—I wanted to make sure it wasn’t runny, jammy would have been nice but it ended up being close to hard—and still the whole thing was lovely!! Toothsome, but lovely—bacon is magic. Bless the pigs, thank you pigs 🐖.

Had mine with tea because coffee puts me to sleep.

Incidentally tea was pup’s last thing he drank too because he helped himself to a few gulps as I was writing this!!
 
@No More ”everything” refers to a seasoning mix that is applied to the outside of the bagel. The mix typically includes aromatic spices like dehydrated garlic bits, caraway, poppy, dehydrated onion bits, kosher salt, etc. Oh! @Freddyt explained it—I didn’t realize it was all the *bagel* flavors on one bagel—that makes sense!
 
Well, if you are ever in Canada, there is a certain doughnut and coffee place you need to visit. Their cinnamon raisin bagels toasted and buttered are pretty addictive too.....
@Freddyt, @OliveJewel thanks guys 😄 we don’t seem to have them over here. I’m quite jealous, we just have kinda boring ones!

It used to be an in-house money saving trick… the bagels would come out of the boiler slid onto metal rollers to get seasoned/seeded from above whilst still wet & sticky, then run under the heat lamps to dry, etc.. But? After the next to last batch went through? Employees would take the spillage from everything that had fallen through the gaps, from under the rollers, and load the hopper, and shazaam! Everything Bagels.

But it’s become the most popular bagel, so now there are proprietary blends and shit, with specific ratios, & locally sourced all organic we sing to them at night or “from XYZ sexy country” or whatever, and blah blah blah, Cha-Ching! Upsale. 🤣

If you go to an actual bagel shop that makes their own, down here? You can still get everything bagels with something like 25 different bits (which is amaaaaaazing), but the kind you buy in the grocery store is usually just 3-5.

This is one of those… I am soooooo sick of working in the restaurant industry, but have been -off & on- since I was 14.
