What? You Want To Employ Me?

I have had the best luck! I decided while I was still unemployed to go to the dog park every day, spend some time socializing a little myself (it's easy to talk about dogs for an hour or two with strangers) as well as socializing my little trauma survivor of a puppy, who seems to have the same set of social problems as I.

And you know what? Yesterday someone asked me to babysit. Today someone asked me to babysit. In some way I feel like I am going backward in professionalism, because I am qualified for more than sitting, but in another way this has really boosted my self-esteem. The kids were devastated that Annie and I weren't going home with them for ice cream sandwiches. I didn't even approach either of these women; our dogs just happened to bond and I talked to their children (I'm very comfortable interacting with children particularly--they have less judgement going on in their heads!), and then they asked me to babysit. I could not be more ecstatic! And the money won't hurt!

I had to post this here. I was going to post yesterday but felt like I was overexcited. But now that someone else has also asked me, I figure this is an accomplishment and form of success!

AND I can bring Annie to work with me!

Thank you all so much! I'm still pretty hyped from the experience.

Thank you Bear! That is what I was thinking, which is why I was kind of "...Huh? Say what? You want me to do what?" AND both of these moms know that I am a smoker but trust me not to expose their children to the sights, smells, etc. of smoking.

I will add that I was truthful in telling them that I DO NOT smoke around children, even just passing by on the street.

I love kids but I have to say the biggest bonus is taking Annie with me. Get this, I forgot to mention to both of them that I am a professional rock climbing instructor who specializes in young children. Gotta mention that next time!

What a great self esteem and confidence boost for you MissAntiSunshine. Sounds likes those sun rays are shining down on you and maybe the 'Anti' is fading away. You should be feeling very chuffed. Well done and sorry for the late reply - I have been working 18 hour days for last week.
