@Fadeaway , this is completely, totally off topic, but weren't you having a problem getting your birth certificate? Did you get it worked out? If not, get a hold of me, I just had to get a copy of mine with no qualifying ID and I seem to have gotten it done, I'll fill you in.

BTW, it was a reasonably nice day here today. They got snow down south of here, but here the sun was actually out part of the time. :D

Came here to read about people complaining about snow... ended up doing complex mother-in-law math calculations in my head:D

We're just heading into winter in the southern hemisphere.. not looking forward to it, though by the looks of it it doesn't get anywhere near as cold as what some of you have. Although if you could send some snow this way, for say a week?, this winter, I'd be rather chuffed!
It hasn't snowed where I live since 2011 when we had some (well, relatively for us, a lot) one night out of the blue. But I got sick and couldn't enjoy it all, so I've been hoping for more every year since:happy:

I was in SLC for a few years until a few weeks ago. The lack of winter was nice imho as I am a summer...
This thread is cracking me up and I hope it’s okay that I jump in. I unfortunately grew up in the Mormon Church but I had my name officially removed from the membership records about 5 years ago. The religion was extremely traumatizing for me. I grew up in Idaho which is kind of like Utah in a way. The joke is the Utah sucks and Idaho blows because of the weather. Southern Idaho is so windy all of the time so that’s why it blows. Among other things! I had moved to SLC in 2004 because I needed a change of scenery and to escape being around my family and the crap going on. I was very surprised how SLC is very diverse but all the cities, especially Provo, are way too much to deal with. I loved living between those beautiful mountains especially when there wasn’t the terrible inversions where you could see the pollution when you drive out of the valley. I was a workaholic so I spent most of my time working and was inactive in the church while living there. I moved back to Idaho to a small city where my family lives and I’m in a quiet rural area and am on disability so I don’t interact with too many people. We did have a very mild winter but now it will snow and rain and the wind blows constantly. I feel bad for the farmers and the people whose jobs are outdoors. My father and oldest brother put in sprinkler systems and do landscaping so it’s really frustrating for them. As for me, I get to stay indoors and watch the weather through my living room window sitting on my couch. The problem with the warmer weather is that unfortunately means I have to force myself outside to weed my yard and mow my lawn. It’s so hard for me to go outside but I’m lucky my mom lives next door so when she goes outside to work on her yard, I’m not as scared to go out at the same time to work on my own.

I totally get everything you say about the religion since I’ve been there, done it and suffer from it.
