What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

Ham salad - is gonna be on the menu daily for a bit, bought a lump of gammon to turn into a ham.

Flat Peach & Grapes

And managed to satisfy my comfort food craving earlier with oats (But there is plenty of the day left as yet so not counting any chickens innit)

Munched on some zucchini chips I made in the dehydrator - some were seasoned with lime/cilantro/garlic, some were chili/lime/garlic, and the others were garlic/sea salt/nutritional yeast. I preferred the lime/cilantro/garlic for sure. I also learned to be sure I use parchment paper and thicker slices next time.

Thai brussel sprouts/carrots/broccoli/baby corn/tofu served over brown rice, Thai summer rolls, and for dessert - chocolate chip vegan/g/f zucchini bread crumbled up (because I still suck when baking certain things - and this was one of them - so it was still a bit moist in the middle), warmed up, and topped with non-dairy vanilla bean nice cream. A tasty way to cover up my screw up. ?

I aalso have a cooking screw up

Garlic soup. The recipe's idea for 'enormous amount' of garlic apparently wasn't the same as mine.

As a result it tasted too watery. I knoow it's a soup. So suppoossed to be watery. But not thiis much.

Joint effort to make dinner. I made a salad and small white beans with rosemary, garlic, and olive oil, and some couscous with thyme. Son made broccoli and some chicken for him and Mrs. W. Daughter made sauteed mushrooms to put in the couscous.

After dinner, dessert for me was two Oreo cookies.

I have no idea what it was.

And I suspect the same will be true for most of my hospital vegan meals for the next 2 weeks?
LMAO... Last time I was in hospital, the nutritionst finally gave up on the hospital kitchens and went out to the health food store to buy me vegan meal replacement shakes!!! :roflmao: I hadn’t eaten for something like a week, before she caught on. Hey, the IV has stay-alive-juice in it! I’ll be FINE ;) She was not amused. At either the medical staff or the kitchens. Furious for me, not at me.

@Friday - I'm the least fussy vegan on the planet. The soup looked like it was radioactive. Meh! That's fine - I don't have a geigermeter on me so who cares.

They can give it their best shot with me. I lived in one of these places for over a year. At some point the kitchen breaks you, and you'll eat whatever they slop onto the plate, with the reassurance that whatever it is, it will taste like rubber, and it will earn you a big tick in the nurse's shift notes about your function (which is the purpose of meal time, right? Function points!)?

Hehehe

LOL... Food allergies here, unfortunately.

The nutritionist was NOT pleased that a hospital kitchen couldn’t handle an allergy plate. We’re a HOSPITAL! A HOSPITAL! She kept exclaiming to empty air, and random passersby. (Okay. You know where you’re at. Now what year is it? Who’s president?) Whole thing just cracked me up. Here’s this poor lady trying to find me food, whilst my doctors were discussing palliative care. (This was a couple years back when I caught a bit of a perky flu). She was a woman on a mission.

I grew up hearing about how awful military food was... so I was simply awestruck to find WOW, such great food! There’s fresh fruit! And salad! And bacon! And cake! :woot: What else does a person need?
