I think I'm a little over the 1.5 year mark with my psychiatrist. Initially weekly, then every 2 or 3 weeks, then monthly to every 5 weeks or so. I had one gap of 2 or 3 months, then decided I needed to go back.
I think I'd rather taper, it's useful to have someone sort of check in on me every so often - even when I'm generally doing well. Also, I'm not always the best judge of how I'm doing.
