Pardon me while I give some advice that I'm absolute crap at following myself.... Or am, possibly, maybe, speaking of what I've watched myself do and am now trying to break.
Go. Because each time you say no, you're letting yourself slowly slip away from things you enjoy due to fear of "what if." And one day you'll wake wondering what happened to you, how you've drifted so far from who you used to be that you're afraid to leave the house and feel awkward around friends.
Go. If you need to bring a distraction for the ride - a book, movie, hand-held game, craft, whatever - bring an acceptable coping mechanism that doesn't involve drugging yourself so much that you miss the good time.
And have fun. :)
