Not Ptsd? But Maybe Not "normal"?

Exactly Blackbird. I am afraid I seldom see it as potential escape. I do go through stages of hypersonmia but hate it enormously. Insomnia medication! :wideeyed: What I now realise is my hypervigilence goes through the roof just at the thought. :nailbiting:

  • Fear based or attempts at fear controlling, "quirks"::cautious:
  • Sitting with a wall behind me.
  • Sleeping with the tele and lights on.
  • Not answering the phone.
  • Never answering the door unless I know ahead someone is coming.
  • Always wearing trousers or leggings unless unavoidable (formal evening wear).
  • Not liking anyone to be around me when I sleep.
  • Not wanting to be in a closed room when I sleep.
  • Hating post-offices. I hate them! :coldfeet:
  • Walking with my keys or something hard in my hand and my phone with finger positioned on the other.
  • Always wearing shoes I can run in. Sandals won't do it!
  • Not liking summer - less clothes.
  • Not liking someone lagging a bit behind me rather than being shoulder to shoulder.
  • Hating and I mean hating anyone being in the kitchen while I cook. :wideeyed:

Strongly prefer bedroom doors to be closed, preferably locked when I have sex with someone. Even if there's no one in the house and the doors are locked.

I am a visual artist and I don't like having my own work displayed in my house. I constantly go over it and critique it and it interferes with my peace of mind.

Don't like stuff, especially too much stuff, especially when it's mine. Cause then I have to figure out what to do with it, how to organize it, etc. The longer I own things the better I like them.

Don't like elevators, narrow hallways or closed in spaces.

Hate crowds. but I like people. Just prefer them in small amounts. No black friday shopping for me.

Don't like closed in spaces.

Don't like cities, I am OK visiting them, sort of, but I would never live in one.

My favorite thing to wear on my feet is motorcycle boots.

Clean scrubbed, sanitary, "perfect" looking houses make me nervous, I like places that are lived in. Germophobic people irritate me all out of proportion to reality, when I see someone whip out the hand sanitizer and start wiping down their grocery cart I just want to get away from them as quickly as possible. I have an uncle by marriage who uses a napkin to pick up the salt shaker at the dinner table. It just strikes me as the ultimate in horrible ungracious manners. On more then one occasion I have had to fight an absolutely compelling urge to dump my plate of food on his head.

Interesting thread.

I hate clothes that are brightly colored. With pink being my most hated color.
I wear sock 99.99% of the time because I can't stand the feeling of anything else touching my feet. I especially freak out when walking barefoot around or in swimming pools.
I can only sleep with my bedroom door closed.
I hate holding hands with anyone even close family.
I cannot wear jewelry since it bugs me to much.
I hate any designer snow footwear. I like my running shoes but will occasional wear leather work type shoes instead.
Am sure there is more just can't think of any right now. ;)
