I don't even know where to put this thread... But as I am panicked, I am putting it here....

I have too many things on my mind.

I am worried and scared of many things right now... I am really stressing out

When that happens, I begin overeating... It's past 1 AM

I just ate about a kilogram of stuff.

I don't know what to do. I'm afraid of gaining tons of weight again, but I can't stop. I keep telling myself to stop, but I can't.

I don't know... ARGH... Why am I this way.

Any advice on food I can eat indefinitely in huge amounts when feeling like this, because It's just about eating food, any food.. And I don't have much fruit left at this point, I just ate 4 bananas, 3 tomatoes, some carrots, loads of salad, random vegetables, 1 cucumber and 1 yogurt... In less than 10 minutes.

I eat extremely quickly...

I really need to find some way of dealing with this... I'm sorry for this kind of wierd and unsorted thread.

Sometimes I find I'm craving something specific if I really ask myself, even if I WILL eat everything in the house if I let myself.

If I just am stress eating and I'm not committed to having carbs or cheese or sugar (which are normally my personal stress foods), then carrots and other crunchy veggies are my go to, and don't have all the sugar fruit does. Sometimes if I try to make sure to eat some protein it will help the cycle stop because at least then if I focus I can sometimes feel full.

I eat extremely quickly.
Part of it for me is mindfulness. I make the trade-off for having the food to begin with that I have to chew every bite a certain number of times, I can't eat with distractions present when I'm like that, and I have to really make an effort to connect to my body and what it is telling me, instead of what my emotions are driving me to do.

There are chew counters, mindfulness bells, and all sorts of really helpful things online/on phones. I also find that logging my food into a fitness site I use will help to put it in realistic perspective. Because if I eat a pound of carrots, okay, not the end of the world. if I eat a whole pizza, not the best thing. Sometimes the numbers help me to break through and say okay, let me do something else for a while.

And if I'm stressed and can't stop eating, I at least try to break it into chunks and alternate with other distractions. "Yes, I know all I want is that third bowl of icecream. But I will watch this episode on netflix, and then see if I still want more to eat. If so I will only give myself a small bowl before doing [insert other distracting thing here]". I find if I can get out of the house or get active that will help a lot. I don't know what exactly the motivation is behind your tendencies, but for me a lot of it is a combination of stress and boredom on top of my already unhealthy food relationships. So the more I can do to get away from the potential to eat everything in my fridge and to get myself distracted and physically involved in some way the better off I am.

Hope something in there is helpful.

I would say keep up with the veggies, maybe some rice. Rice always fills me up, or oatmeal! Start drinking water....lots of it...that should help too I hope! Popcorn is another that is "bulky" but little calories as long as it isn't loaded with butter. HUGS to you!

maybe some rice. Rice always fills me up

No time to cook, how easy is it to eat rice uncooked... Also raw peas and similar are my next veggies on the list, currently running out completely.

I will try to somehow exercise enough

I relate to what you are doing. I overeat, binge eat, comfort eat and self soothe with food as well. It is hard going for me to stop. I find emotional regulation really hard.

This is not a weird thread at all.

I go on an occasional overeating binge. What to eat to mitigate it? Veggies, veggies, and veggies. I binge ate kale once. I really wanted cake, but it got me through.

Also, if you can, add in another way to handle the pain and fear you are in addition to the overeating. Even if you can't stop it, it will help your brain begin to break the association that stress and fear = overeat.

Give yourself another option to do as well. Deep breathing will actually help send a signal to your body to kick in your parasympathetic system and help the brain and body not be in such a high alert stage. My favorite deep breathing exercise to do when I feel out of control, which an ER doc taught me, is called 4 square breathing. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 4 seconds, and exhale for 4 seconds - and repeat this 4 times. Perhaps try this before you eat the next thing, and after.

Try not to shame yourself either for what you have already eaten. It will only fuel the cycle and keep you stuck - and you do not deserve it one bit. You deserve kindness and peace.

Be careful with chasing the overeating with exercise right away. You could actually reinforce the behavior of overeating because then you are giving yourself endorphins by exercise for overeating. Instead - try the opposite action, find some distraction from taking out your fear and stress via food and your body, and instead journal, paint, tear up paper, write on the forum, play an online game, etc.

I find this stuff hard to deal with too. Take it one step at a time, as slow as you can, and be as kind to you as you can be.

I just ran out of vegetables in the house... Rice is qutie chewable raw...

After eating a tiny bit I shecked calories in rice, I think I will eat paper...

I can't get gums atm, I've just been trying to distract myself... I'm not sure what exact part of eatng I crave... Just food...

I don't know what to do, I will try to do some work to distract myself. I gave up on rice after eating a tiny bit, yogurt has much less calories per gram.
I will try to exercise and work and do whatever, I doubt I will sleep unfortunately.

Get gum tomorrow.

Not the best for your teeth, but if you have any ice in the house, crush it into small chunks and chew on that.
Also: try any hot liquid. Tea, milk, even some juices are good warmed up - make it nice and hot, and make it decaffinated.
Finally: brush your teeth. Sometimes this helps people.
