Hi Saskia,
I missed seeing this March 21, hope you're able to come back. Welcome.

There's no one here who didn't feel your shoes as you walked through your paragraphs, please know it's awfully, awfully safe here, for real. We'll listen, and be whatever kind or support or plain old friend you need, who knows what that would be. We're just not supposed to go through what you did, and are. I'm so sorry.

Peace to you, we're here, and welcome.

I am so, so sorry. You deserve to be angry. I feel angry on your behalf, and I don't even know you!!

After someone has gone through so much, I think they deserve the freedom to their understandably intense emotions. How else are you supposed to heal...??

I hope sincerely that you can find a professional who can actually help you. And I hope no one persuades you to forgive, because someone who has hurt you so much does not deserve to be forgiven. You deserve compassion and empathy. Murderers do not-- at least not from their victims. It's not like your anger can hurt them.

Its biblical for starters.

Secondly it's a part of the healing process.

With that being said; one is not expected to forget.

I don't know if it is forgiveness so much as making peace. I can forgive the Ex Boy for the years of emotional abuse and name calling, but i will never forget. However, something this heinous, I don't know. I used to stand on the forgiveness band wagon until reading some of the stories in these forums. Now I am not so sure. But you do have to make some sort of peace with whatever has happened in order to move on. For some, that is forgiveness, for others it may stop at accepting what has happened. I think ultimately if one can somehow forgive, it is for the best. That is in the ideal situation, perhaps in the ideal world. World peace, and all that rot.

However, Mad Max, even if not everyone is Christian, there are still some things worth considering in the Bible, so don't be afraid to say what you want from there. It provides another perspective.

I believe Jesus died and was resurrected. I know the hardest thing a human must due is not die it is to forgive. Forgiveness is actually for the "hurting party" the offended party not the rotten piece of crap that caused such mayhem.

Max

I think this discussion is off topic. This is SimplySaskia's first post on the forum, and she did not mention forgiveness but was reaching out about something else.

"Is there anyone out there, like me?..."

With that answer being a resounding no; I offered the only solace;and from the looks of it I was the only one that stepped out on a limb.
