I recently learned our local hospital is partnering with an organic gardening/permaculture group to help them plant a garden on the hospital grounds that will supply their cafeteria/kitchen with local organic fruits, herbs, and vegetables and help doctors better help the community with more healthily meeting nutritional needs while improving various types of suffering via direct educational opportunities/workshops/etc. regarding the overall food supply and such. Wait...What??? Oh happy day!!!
I can't wait to see it come to fruition, help when I can, and see it all in action. Of all places, I never imagined the hospital would be the first place to set an example, but I'm sure tickled at the potential. Now, if we could get churches and all of the cities/towns who have adequate growing land to follow suit with planting and growing even more, we'd be onto something up in here. My heart feels hugged, personal efforts feel validated, and hopes have been expanded.
