These decadent lovelies that I made tonight.

Daughter and I were each going to have just one—nope! Figured they wouldn’t store well anyway.
The cake things are store-bought and taste like twinkie cake. The cream is whipped cream mixed with softened cream cheese. When we tried to just take a bite the strawberry slid around and the cream squished out so we found the best way was to shove as much as possible in our mouths all at once.

I used to make these with strawberry “freezerves”.

OMFG. Hadn’t thought of them in years.

I ate way, way, waaaaaay too many. (No such thing).

I’d freeze the cakes from the store, and just take one out, pop it in the toaster, then hit it with whipped cream or creme Fraische, a dollup of jam… and swoon.

(( Fresh thyme & chocolate drizzle if I decided to share (ha! Rarely! Mine mine mine mine), & teaspoon of orange liquor -or espresso- on the plate I’d set them on top of to soak into the cakes))

Oh, I had FORGOTTEN these!!!

I really need to learn to bake. Cashew cream makes badass tiramisu “marscapone” with just a dash of agave & citrus (it’s supposed to be lemon, but I use orange, because I like oranges & chocolate & coffee. And cashew cream is dead easy to make, so that would work for the whipped cream bit.

It’s the baking that’s the problem.

Baking scares me.

It’s the baking that’s the problem.

Baking scares me.

Because when you cook....it just has to make it in the pot. When you bake you have to get the right amount in the right order at the right time..... I usually manage one of those three.
