What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

Thanks for the reminder, I needed to take my vitamin D and Omega 3.

Water now, just back from a 30 mins jog watching the sunrise over the sea. I may have been mistaken but thought I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a flash of lighting over the far horizon. Got a glance from a cat and a friendly smile from a stranger. Possibly the best Christmas morning I have ever had.

Breakfast part 1, eaten entirely to mitigate the effects of breakfast part 2
Part 1 - diced - a red pepper, some cucumber, some fancy baby plum tomatoes & kalamata olives, vinaigrette & for protein a bit of feta n a bit of hot smoked trout.

Part 2 - a mini mince pie, 3 mini Danish butter cookies, a chocolate pistachio, a chocolate brazil, and a blond chocolate filled with salted caramel.

The salad & protein slowed down the absorption of sugar nicely n my blood sugar stayed stable huzzah

Yesterday, instead of traditional British Christmas dinner, had a go at doing some French Christmas food. Didn't make huge efforts it has to be said, cause I don't have the spoons and P was coming down with a bad cold. So we missed out some of the planned dishes, and each dish was very small. Enjoyed what we did tho.
L'apero - Kir Royale, blinis with smoked salmon / caviar, mini French toasts (not the eggy bread stuff, but small very crisp breads) w Roquefort & walnuts,
Chicken liver parfait on bagette - (wouldn't want foie gras for cruelty reasons)
Roast chicken w chestnuts & potatoes roasted in with the meat, Glazed carrots, chestnut stuffing
Mini chocolate cake, in place of a chocolate buche - we don't need a huge yule log for 2 diabetics, the individual cakes were plenty.
Had it all spread out over 12 hours.
Missed out some of the planned dishes, by the time of getting to the chicken I was running out of give a f*ck. So we missed out the charcuterie, the cheese course, green beans almondine and the final sweet course of chocolates and cookies.

I did enjoy the novelty of doing something different though. And especially liked the Roquefort & walnuts & the parfait.

Blood sugar was stable all day, had a walk mid day too.
(Thanks for saying bout the self care @Rose White )
