What did you find today? tangible or intangible?

I'm glad the hummingbird found you, @Tornadic Thoughts . :( A place/ person of safety/ peace.

handsome little toad

I thought that was an oxymoron.. ;) (Just kidding, am from the city. :) I am carrying out any bug in the basement now though, thanks to you. :) Except if there is a spider, because they're too fast to catch with a kleenex and I'm sure not going to be touching any of them. :) )

Well, in my search for a pair of nylons yesterday- a whole drawer of lovely fancy undies I did not remember I even owned, lol.

But, today, a rock (concrete) like a hand sized monument with aggregate stones set in and a flat base; computer instructions.

And, I had a very odd coincidental thing happen this morning, I am trying to start for (myself) a new therapy technique for ptsd that someone said on here I never heard of, googled it , I have to start all over from the beginning with what they said though because it's all (unnerving and exhausting!) exercises but I know they started with you need a mindfulness image of a safe place, I have had only 1 I can manage, ever- a red burning candle (I can't visualize, but- hey @scout86 - good news though, apparently we 'all' supposedly can, since you need only a flash second image, eg. 'think of a bike'- we can remember or 'make' an image ?? ) ; and forget images with open-ness or people- ??? - "Get the F out!'- lol , no other safe place), and this item was what they talked about in church (not common). I even had thought yesterday of buying one for someone as a gift, but I was too tired and too late to get to the store. So I think(?) I found some ~'hope' or encouragement to try to try again to try mindfulness (though it's really destabilizing) in relation to this new therapy technique. So if I can force myself to try each day maybe I can ultimately say I've also found something that's useful for toning down the hypervigilance, fear, terror and self-rejection. It's supposed to help people who know CBT but who have self-critical thoughts ('know' what to think, but can't 'feel'/ believe it), to tone down the hypervigilance/ internal environment and mind in order to get to be able to do the work/ processing (overcome the obstacle).

Oh ya, -maybe that's why I've been finding all these cigarette lighters- 4 lately, was thinking, I'm still vaping?, but they're good to light candles too. :roflmao:

Hey, ..maybe that's a tip I should just be buying a candle, instead of fighting non-visualizing? Hence the lighters?

Wow , I found I have hives (wilfully ate brown sugar= molasses. Three times  ).

Found a bit of calm.

@berlinda , I came back to add, and you had said that. ^^ (Not sure where else to put it)..

..This therapy said we " can't" get to our stuff , when we can't calm down enough to work on it. Which I agree with, as well as other stuff they said, so far, it's like, "Oh.. is that why it's so?" Not everything, or rather I'd add a bit to it with some things they say, but still my personal experience also, it seems correct (JMHE). I might have to tweak it a bit- like I can close my eyes to meditate if I only close the one that doesn't work. ?

What I wanted to add was, maybe 'running' (away)/ physically/ leaving, has to (also) do with the subjective-feeling of constantly being chased? Much as if our heart was racing, and we fell asleep we may dream of a time we were chased? But when we are awake, those kinds of reminders are just under the surface, sort of ~subconscious. Because I was reminded what a great Vet on here told me many years ago, that the feeling of not belonging was due to low level (unperceived? or un-aware of?) anxiety. And further, I remembered a friend told me years ago the feeling of mistrust is from anxiety. And hypervigilance is by it's nature- over-awareness and anxiety, to me (not only 'aware' but aware of what threat could be coming). So achieving moments of calm, allows processing (and rejuvenation). But by creating not just a metaphorical but experential distance (as in the reduction of the'feeling' of that feeling) , ie between that feeling (the hypervigilance) and the perception of the need for it. And therefore thoughts of 'why' that feeling is there (which are bound to be associated with the present, even though it might be most greatly caused by the past) just reduce, because they're coming 'from' the feeling, and the 'distance' between who/ 'what' is chasing us is growing wider, it is 'falling behind' in the chasing (we are getting further away from 'it'- the reminders, memories, intrusive thoughts, and bodily reactions, personified. Because honestly, the 'feeling' feels real, but nothing is really 'there'. But tell your mind that. :( But, in 'normal' terms, if someone is chasing you with lousy intent, it's un-natural not to react and run away).

Wow, does that even make sense? I know it does to me, but that doesn't say much. Kind of day I'm just glad I'm not playing scrabble or writing a required essay. ??

Oh yes, and I found a bit of 'hope', because they said this is designed for people who (they found also) suck at self soothing. ??

Ohh @Missing Mermaid , those are some great finds !! Do you do any kind of art or crafts.. I already had your 'finds' incorporated in a collage I'm working on... without your permission.?.. but only in my imagination. ?

I found two feathers, side by side today, from two different birds. One dark gray, the other light gray with a dark gray end... what's with all the feathers eh??

I love projects! I have made my first bracelet with sea glass. I used blue, teal and purple seaglass for it. I found a red piece that is super cool but idk if it would make good jewelry though. I’ll have to think of something else

@Missing Mermaid , how great that you made a bracelet out of the found sea glass.. it's so good for us to be in nature to start with, but when we find things we bring home and make a memory of it... twice as awesome... Great distractions and we get to be creative.. ya, save the red piece, something awesome will come to mind and you will have just the right piece for it... thanks for sharing what you did with your 'finds'.. very inspirational.
