What would you choose?

Why is red or green a new Mexico question? Ta
It’s a salsa/pepper question.

Red salsa (or red peppers, or soup)
Green salsa (or green chilis, or soup)
Christmas (both)

You’ll be asked “red or green?” Is the southwest in general, but New Mexico ALWAYS makes 2 versions to choose from, yet very rarely 4 or 5, like one finds in other Latin-Heavy areas. Southern California? Nearly always has half a dozen choices, you aren’t asked which you want, you serve yourself. TexMex, meanwhile, one has little choice in color/chilis, but quite a lot of choice in spice/heat (from blistering to molten).

It’s a bit similar to ordering a bacon bap… some places you have the choice between sauces, or soldiers, or bread. There’s a “standard” in every region, and standard “choices”, that vary from place to place. EVERYWHERE in the US has Mexican food. Places closer to the border (soCal, Arizona, NewMex, Texas) have local standards. NewMexico’s are red &/or green (salsas, peppers, chilis).

Rambutan or passion fruit?
Rambutan! Passionfruit is slimy.

Raw fruit or cooked fruit?

Raw, though I like both

The only dish where red or green is a common choice in my life has been Thai curry. I still always forget which is stronger 🤭

I'm not very au fait with diff chillies, am a bit of a wimp re heat, can only handle medium hot curries, and only in the last decade or 2 did I become much aware of different types of chillies. Anyway

Burger or pizza?

Burger or pizza?

Pizza. The unconscious assumption being that there is more cholesterol in beef, we don't know the quality of the beef and we don't know what part of the cow we're getting unless we make it at home. There's something about cheese or fish in pizza that seems more innocent than minced beef. I may well have been wrong many times.
