Has Anybody Forgotten To Take Their Meds...

I am 4 hours late on my meds. Took them. I was wondering why I felt so messed up. I still have 2 dosses left to take but, now I am off schedule. Feel a little off kilter so to speak. How should I manage this? What's your experiences? When should I take my other doses?

It says take it as soon as you remember it. Which I did. However I take 2 drugs together on my 1st dose and just 1 on my 2nd 4 hours later. Then I take 3 drugs including my 2nd dose of the original before bed time. I'm waiting on my T to call me back.

I take 300 mg of Trileptal and 2mg of Ativan at 11:30 am. Then I take 2mg of Ativan at 4:30 pm. Then 600 mg of trileptal, 15 mg of remeron, 1mg prazosin at 11:30 pm. I took the first one at 3:30 pm.

It's funny that you say that. I have alarms for the last two pill doses but, not for the 1st. Duh. It's normally the 1st thing I do each day. I got sidetracked this morning. I freaked out because this is the 1st time I missed that dose. Also, my brain was feeding my panic with the "what if you took it and just don't remember" thought. Intrusive thoughts.. Anyway. I added that alarm to my 12 daily alarms for pills and other reminders. Thanks for the recommendation, Mim.

So I am in better spirits. I spoke to my T who prescribes it and I worked the re-advised schedule for tonight. I also researched my pills and found the missed dose recommendations. I was able to retrace my steps to get rid of the intrusive thought and have learned a valuable lesson.

Thank you all for coming to my aid. I appreciate it so much. I was really scared and that helped immensely. You are all truly fantastic people.

Can you set up alarms on your phone so you don't forget?

Sure can! I use an app called "MedSafe" (though there are MANY medication reminders). MedSafe's reminder sounds like a pill bottle being shaken so it is impossible to miss. And it's LOUD and wakes me up if I sleep through my alarm. And it's persistent. "You snoozed XYZ. Are you really, really, REALLY sure you don't want to take it." And "hello stupid, you are taking this early." And it has a real virtual pill container/divider with the right shape and the right color and can be very customizable. Like one of mine is a pink square and says "meds in pill box" (morning meds as there are many) and one is a blue square (cuz there actually wasn't one of these) for the morphine bolgus (morphine "button" for an extra dose of the morphine drip in my spine).

I also use it to remind me to eat.

Sorry, didn't mean to go on a tanget about a medication reminder app. It's just a really, really, REALLY great idea for us with med schedules like mine and yours @cdg.
