What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

I thought duck was supposed to taste like swamp. LOL. That's what it tastes like in Michigan. Yuk!
LMAO... Cha. Duck is one of those weird beasties that ranges from grey hamburger gross to melt in your mouth corn finished ribeye on the grill. All depending on what it ate. Coastal duck is yuck yuck yuck (that big durn puddle of yours sounds like it counts!), corn country & berry country, though? Swoon.

The first time my uncle tried to take me out duck hunting (southern IL & Iowa) I was just like... No f*cking way, crazy man! I’d rather eat sewer rat! But then? He air chilled the breasts & cooked them like steaks and had the last laugh as I just drooled in the background.

Leftover carry out... Chicken kabob, saganaki, tzatziki, flat bread, a little rice and green beans. Coke. J had lamb chops with all the sides and milk.

That duck looks delicious!

There’s a speakeasy I used to go to regularly that cooked their French fries in duck fat... even better than 1980’s McDonald’s fries cooked in beef fat. Keeerazy good. I might not be able to afford duck, but my arteries might just have to bite the bullet for some duck fat French fries.

Past few days I’ve been working my way through an alarmingly large pot of mac’n’beef. Which I usually love... but when even someone who skips meals weeks at a time starts glaring at the pot? It’s time for something else. Stat.

Also whiskey & chocolate chips & espresso.

Today’s craving? Oysters on the half shell.
Today’s cooking? Chicken & poblanos (in theory to stuff tamales. In practice I bet that will be tomorrow’s foodables. All by itself. Or maybe with some grilled polenta).

Fillet of haddock, few new potatoes, fine green beans, petit pois, a little instant parsley sauce n a knob of butter.

Happy cause it's healthy for me, easy to make n tastes good.
