Leaving The Forum Because Of Opinions!

A person's opinion is definately what makes all of us individuals. Each person has his or her own. Perception, reality, truth, whatever the situation, it comes down to a matter of respect. To be a certain kind of person you need to act like that. I don't ever claim to be the brightest or the best star in the sky, but I am there. As are others. And I respect them for that.

I do have a big problem with confrontation, so this is hard for me to say. An opinion should be left at that, once it turns into personal attacks or name calling then it ceases to be just one persons opinion. I don't care about the fact if others gossip or act like high schoolers, if they don't bring it into the forum then let them do whatever. But I don't have all the facts so I won't make judgments on others characters. I still respect your opinion, of course. And you seem to still want to help despite it. That shows character in itself.

But this is all just my opinion. I hope no offense has been caused.

I just wanted to point out that this thread was started over 4 years ago. I'm not saying the subject is no longer relevant.... just thought I'd mention how old it is.

Whilst I could lock out automatically all threads beyond x date, I never applied this feature because I believe there is a lot of older content which as much validity today, as when written. I would especially apply this to myself, as I am in a habit to not repeat myself too much these days with older information that already exists... so searching out older content, the same answer usually still applies today, unless new evidence shows the contrary.

What do you think about these type actions? This doesn't even apply to just a forum, but life in general I believe.

You should check out William Glasser's concept of Choice Theory. It is what we use at the alternative school where I teach. It really is fascinating. After all the only thing we can give someone is information, it is up to them to decide what they will do with it. It really is in line with what you are talking about here and I think you would enjoy it.
