Yesterday was a big day for my city in the North Bay in the fact that the majority of the people whom were residing in make-shift shelters, buildings, and trailers from the fires burning down their homes and over 200 previously homeless...were rehomed with the help of Catholic Charities, Red Cross, and government agencies. The fair grounds no longer homes livestock that were displaced and mobile emergency satellite units.
The city’s infrastructure is projected to take over one and half years for reinstating medical facilities and over several years to reestablish the hub of economy and rebuild services. Many doctors & specialist have relocated to larger cities due to the loss of homes and the lack of current availability. Thus prices are rising in many areas of industry from the burgeoning demands and lower supply due to many new factors.
One little bit of information that I did not see posted on this thread is that the country from which our board’s founder is from...flew in firefighters to assist. As well many other states came to the call and stepped up in harms way to save as many residents, pets and livestock as possible. Their motto was- Lives first.
Service-people of the armed forces, Police personnel, Sheriffs, the unsung Hero or Heroine next store among the volunteer and FireFighters came together to save lives. Our own FireChief’s home burnt down as he teamed his members together to rescue those in flames.
So I ask those who might read this to consider an moment of silence for all those whom lost their lives and those whom sacrificed with honor. For sometimes woven among the disasters, are also stories of the courageous coming together for a common cause & the greater good. My sincere gratitude, respect and heart goes out to everyone of those involved.
