The last kitchen I worked in used to make this amaaaaazing cucumber-mint-lime-Serrano water whenever the thermometer hit 115. (105 is normal, even in winter, summer would be 115-125. And that’s just ambient temp. Not actual temp working the grill or flattop or ovens or anything).
I’m not a huge fan of spicy things, although I like a bit of heat, but man oh man oh man. This was like drinking cold fire. And It was sooooooo good.
I’ve tried making it at home, with little success. We were using the 10 gallon blender at work (1 gallon per crew member, per half shift, in addition to our liter per hour normal water/coffee/soda/liquid norm to keep up with the dehydration factor), and scaling that down to 1/20th to fit my liter sized home blender? Um. Yeah. I can make as little as 5 gallons just perfect, but below that? I. Just. f*ck. It. Up. So vexing. I really don’t have anywhere to keep 5 gallons of anything.
So what I really waaaaaant right now? Is ^^^That^^^ What I’m having?
Coke & Lime.
