Getting impossible to pee?

But @She Cat, if I'm off the gabapentin long enough and the Tegrotol doesn't work as it didn't the first time, they'll have to titrate the gabapentin again which took FOREVER! I've tried just about every anti-convusive meds due to the side effects of gabapentin during my 2 yrs out of work but always came back to gabapentin as it was the only thing that helped and due to my increased of nerve pain, neuropathy, and pain in general I am very hesitate to change anything. Especially if it can render me unable to work. I've dealt with this side effect simply because it has been the only medication that has helped this much. I have reduced the mg on my own which led to a few days unable to work.

Its not that i dont want to help this issue. I just dont want to cause worse issues for myself.

Didn’t say you had too, just giving you a thought. I know how hard it is to change meds when they work. I’m thinking also, that it may be time for an appointment with a urologist. They do a test called a FLOW test. It’s exactly what it sounds like. They measure the flow of your pee. Sounds so wonderful!!!!! But, a urologist may find an underlying issue... again, just a thought....

Wouldn't kidney stones be painful though? My ex had kidney stones and was in so much pain he was puking and had to go to the ER. And why would it last so long and not pass? And if too big to pass then there would be pain and there isn't. Not associated with peeing anyway. And the increased back pain is in the middle lower. Not on the side where I'd expect it to be for kidneys. My pain dr never mentioned the kidneys either.

I was reading about the flow test and they listed some things that cause issues urinating and with medication side effect was a blockage. And scar tissue causing blockage actually could be happening. I know there is some scar tissue there and over time it does get bigger. So many it's causing a blockage or partial blockage making it much harder to release my bladder? I think the flow test thing is the best idea but then theres a shit ton of fear. Sigh!

It does? I wasn't aware of that. Learn new things every day.

Kidney stones can form anywhere in the bladder, urethra, kidneys, and the pain isn't always that noticeable. It's theoretically possible that you are passing very small stones, esp. if you have some nerve damage. But, that would have probably been detected when you were tested for the UTI....so probably not stones.

If it's easier to pee standing, you could get one of those female urination devices, see if it helps.

Yep. Scar tissues builds up over time. That's what the scar tissue (fibrosis) in my back is doing and if they remove it, it comes right back and then builds scar tissue onto scar tissue. Gets worse. In my back that scar tissue is pressing on nerves.

It is easier to pee standing up. Hmmm, that's an intresting idea.

a recorded sound of water running on your phone help???

Tried this today and it helped some. Youtube search water sounds that make you want to pee.

I had this test.
They snake catheters up your pee hole and then attach electrodes around. Then spread your legs and insert a rectal probe for testing bladder peripheral muscles.

After lubed and tubed, the machine starts pumping water into you until you want to pee. They will ask you to cough. Then pee and they will watch you.

Dont cough too hard or the probe slides out..and dont squirm around or the catheters slide out pee hole.... they will force it back inside quickly or need to restart the test.

It really hurts and stings to feel tubes going into pee hole. Its a sensation i will never forget.
