What did you do today to work towards emotional regulation?

I am attempting to borrow a car. If not? No worries. But time with the highway sliding under my ass, and surrounded by sound, and not overreaching (slow physical recovery from illness means the walking involved will be difficult, not impossible, but difficult)? Would help.
 
I am reading a book. It gives me a break from my distorted cognitions. It gives me a break from my maladaptive daydreaming.
 
I went walking at 6.30am.
I broke down my distorted thinking.
I stopped being so hard on myself.
I am easing up on myself.
I feel a bit hopeful for the future.
 
I don't think I'm doing a very good job but today, during an enormously stressful hour or so, I used mindfulness, which I'd been having trouble doing lately. It really helped calm me and bring tears under control in a situation I really needed to.
 
listened to music (ongoing all day)
went to Costco
organized my area
listened to sounds of water (my "safe place")
sat in nature
Read my affirmations (I'm good enough/I'm safe/My life isn't wasted)
