What did you do today to work towards emotional regulation?

I dragged myself to the survivors group today. It helped me again as a bit of relief.
I managed to stand in the kitchen & got a tea & talked very briefly. Very briefly yeah but still I actually did it! Something I've been too anxious to do.

I reached out in text to a close friend today instead of isolating so much. & also I shared my anxiety through text about my music career with my manager today too instead of just isolating.

Small steps. But important.
 
I got up early.
I went for one hour brisk walking with my walking group.
Played 2 hours social tennis.
I practised being present in this now, again, and again, and again, and again.
I went for a cuppa at a cafe.
I listened to music.
I made strategic plans of how to manage the learning of tennis. I looked at my mistakes and adjusted my playing accordingly. I will go to some lessons for a short time just to learn the basics.
I acted on something that need imeediate attention.
I sent my sister a card, because texting is too volitile between us.

I hour pilates
Trying to think things through
Keep going even when I forget what I am doing
Challenging distorted cognitions
 
Repeatedly calmed myself during and after episodes of anxiety and social anxiety lasting 2 or 3 hours. At its peak I needed to calm self again every 30 seconds but it helped beautifully.
Still room for improvement.

Also, removed self from drunk partners presence. This move was very effective indeed.
