What did you do today to work towards emotional regulation?

Therapy appt. today; have been naming most all of the above-listed distorted cognitions and so far successfully stopping them in mid-streaming and flipping the script from negative to more positive about self/others. Need to do a Trauma Timeline (will take a lot of work, patience, and grit) in order to self-nurture little girl self through my adult (talk w/her re timeline trauma events self-soothing, self-loving, nurturing her throughout); and will try and utilize therapist to role-play with my adult then switch to my child then back and forth child to adult w/ T playing whatever role I am not (at the time). Switching off. Going to be difficult...but must revive my little girl child within and begin dialogue with her re extreme brutal trauma events (timeline) in this healing format/modality. Will try that is all I can do.

Saw therapist this past Tuesday and he agreed to work with me re role-playing: adult/child and child/adult (Tian Dayton). So now I will attempt tomorrow to start on a Trauma Timeline and after completing same will then role play with T to connect for first time with neglected, abused inner child from/through my adult self. Sounded without merit and hokey until I watched Dayton in group setting demonstrating how adult/child visa versa helps to try and heal the broken, neglected, abused little girl child self.

I believe this will be beneficial in trying to connect/heal my nearly decimated, violently abused little girl self within.

Watered the plants
Went for a long walk and got a discount on some shopping, work stuff. I felt great about the discount.
